Hosted at AUR鈥檚 campus in Rome, the conference is open to the public, with free registration (register to attend here), offering students, academics, and members of the wider community an opportunity to engage with scholars and practitioners from universities and institutions across Europe and beyond.听

Building on the first edition of Undisciplined Anthropologies, the conference asks what becomes possible when traditional disciplinary boundaries are questioned. Its central theme, Beyond Borders, considers how anthropology can intersect with the arts, technology, ecology, politics, and other forms of knowledge to create new ways of understanding contemporary societies and imagining possible futures.听

Across four sessions and two days, presentations will range widely - from multispecies memory, migration, artistic practice, and cultural identity to post-humanism, algorithmic judgment, and the relationship between anthropology and emerging technologies. The program reflects the deliberately expansive nature of the conference, bringing different methodologies, disciplines, and cultural perspectives into conversation. 听

The conference also represents a continuing academic partnership between AUR and the University of Palermo, combining the international networks and intellectual communities of both institutions. AUR President Scott Sprenger听and University of Palermo scholar Stefano Montes听are among the conference organizers, alongside anthropologist Massimo Canevacci, and all three will open and close the two-day program.听

By bringing together scholars, artists, writers, and researchers across institutional and disciplinary boundaries, Undisciplined Anthropologies II听embodies the spirit of the collaboration itself: creating spaces in which different traditions of scholarship can meet, challenge one another, and generate new perspectives.
