All听non-Italian听AUR students are required听by Italian law to have a valid health insurance plan听for the duration of their studies in Italy.听Typical health plans from the US or other home countries do not cover the requirements.听

To facilitate your access to the type of insurance required,听we听strongly recommend students take advantage of the听favorable terms and comprehensive coverage that听our partner听CISI听(Cultural Insurance Services International)听has put in place for听you.听听
The CISI Plan听has been听designed specifically for听students studying overseas.听Not only does the plan provide accident and sickness insurance,听but it听also covers听mental health,听medical evacuation, and repatriation as well as security evacuations should they become necessary.听
In addition to the above,听the AUR student insurance plan听covers users for all areas outside the United States and听provides听students听with a worldwide, 24-hour emergency telephone assistance service.听
US residents, please note:听this is NOT a replacement for your home-based comprehensive health insurance. This is a supplement that will cover you while you study in Italy - do not give up any insurance that you already have for coverage in the States.
With 24/7 emergency听operators standing by, you can consult with CISI on their coverage听for听pre-existing conditions, emergency repatriation, specialist听medical听visits, prescriptions, physical therapy, and听more. CISI听also听covers mental health concerns and听鈥淭rip Delay鈥澨齜enefits. CISI will even cover the cost to fly a parent or guardian to your current location during a听health emergency.听
Non-European students听
We strongly recommend that all non-European students purchase the CISI insurance policy. Other insurance coverage may also be acceptable, but students will be required to produce a certificate from the insurer detailing the conditions of the policy specific to residence in Italy. This certification must also detail any restrictions that the policy might put in place while resident in Italy. Again,听depending on your country of origin听and individual insurance company, the policy you arrive with may not provide adequate coverage in Italy.听For your peace of mind and wellbeing, we strongly recommend purchasing the CISI health insurance plan.听
European students听
While you are covered in Italy through reciprocity with your home country鈥檚 national healthcare system, depending on your country of origin this may not provide an听adequate level of coverage in Italy. Given the low cost and comprehensive coverage听provided, we strongly recommend that you purchase CISIS insurance.听听听
