Manuela Pacella听(Rome, 1977)听is听an听art听historian听and听critic.听As听a听freelance听curator,听she听focuses听on听cultural听exchange听between听Italy听and听several听countries听in听Central听and听Northern听Europe.听She听is听particularly听knowledgeable听about听the听art听scene听inNorthern听Ireland,听where听she听has听worked听since听2011听and听participated听in听the听ICI听Curatorial听Intensive听at听the听CCA听in听Derry听and听the听International听Residency听at听Flax听Art听Studios听in听Belfast听(both听in听2013).听As听guest听curator,听she听organized听the听2017听exhibition鈥淟ost听in听Narration.听Riccardo听Giacconi,听Invernomuto听e听Luca听Trevisani鈥澨齛t听the听MAC听in听Belfast听and听led听the听second听Curatorial听Directions,听which听explored听the听importance听of听text,听narrative,听and听storytelling听in听exhibition听making听through听workshops听andlectures听in听Belfast听and听Milan.听听

Her publications include听Inner Homeland听(NERO, 2012),听Bertille听Bak. La听fiaba听del听reale听(Postmedia Books, 2018), and听Tell听me stories!听(Politi听Seganfreddo听edizioni, 2024), a book based on the column of the same name published in 鈥淔lash Art Italia鈥� from 2020 to 2024. She recently started a new column, Cicala (Cigada), for the relaunched print edition of 鈥淔lash Art Italia,鈥� presented at听Artissima听in Turin in 2025. Every two months,听she portrays听Rome and contemporary art in the city with a personal, derivative, and fragmented perspective and style.听
