We were delighted to hear the news from Isotta Giorgini (Business Administration, 2020) that her career in the fashion industry has gotten off to a flying start, as she recently accepted the role of Wholesale Assistant at Michael Kors in Milan.
Isotta had already dipped her toe into the world of fashion in 2018, when she embarked upon a semester abroad at LIM College in New York City. One of AUR’s study abroad partner universities, LIM College offers courses that focus on fashion business. During her semester in New York City, Isotta told us, “I decided to apply for LIM because studying fashion business has always been a dream of mine, and because I would like to work in this industry in the future. I thought that studying at a university located in NYC, the most famous fashion city, could represent a great chance to understand how the industry works.” It certainly seems to have done so!
Isotta returned to Rome determined to pursue her interest in fashion: for her thesis, she conducted a Strategic Audit of The Ralph Lauren Company – and graduated at the top of her class – and upon graduation from AUR in 2020, she began an online course on the Management of Fashion and Luxury Companies at Bocconi University. She then began the IMLUX double-degree program in Luxury Management at the Politecnico di Milano, and she is set to complete the course next year. When Isotta started looking ahead to life after the master’s and making the jump from academics to the professional world, she found fantastic networking opportunities within AUR’s Business Administration alumni community: Fabio Evola (Class of 2001), an executive at Michael Kors, offered Isotta insights on the industry and how to make her application stand out in a highly competitive field. The news of Isotta’s success and the power of the alumni community make us very proud!
Another exciting piece of news from Isotta quickly followed that of her job success: publication in Vogue! Isotta wrote a piece for the Gucci Beloved Column, which you can . Sharing the news, she wrote: “I am extremely honoured that my words are actually out there on the most prestigious and authoritative fashion magazine of all the time! Dreams REALLY come true, I swear!”
