Instructor: Sustainable Food Systems
91直播 of Rome is looking for an instructor to teach the course 鈥淪ustainable Food Systems鈥� for the U.S.-accredited social science Master in Food Studies:听Policies for Sustainable Production and Consumption. The course involves 45 contact hours.听In 2027, it will run during the spring semester (January 鈥� May) and subsequently in the fall semester (September -December). 听 听
Course Description
The aim of the course is to review the conceptual and analytical frameworks for the sustainability听of the food system, the trade-offs involved,听and to analyze how sustainability is pursued in practice by different actors in a variety of contexts including the Global North and Global South. The food system refers to all processes involved in the production, processing, consumption and disposal of food; it implies the involvement of different sectors, disciplines and stakeholders and the intersection with aspects of public health, environment as well as social and economic development. The Key role and relative importance of different parts of the food economy in the overall food systems structure and transformation will be analyzed. The course includes transferable skills related to management of projects dealing with sustainability. One or more field trips to regional and/or local food systems in Italy will also be included.
Required qualifications:
- Ph.D. in agricultural economics/development economics/economic geography 听
- Previous teaching experience.听
- Excellent knowledge of English
Desirable qualifications
- Previous teaching experience at the graduate level
- Previous teaching experience with North American programs
- Professional experience in food and agricultural development policies/projects

Assistant Director of U.S. Admissions
Location: Remote (U.S.-based) in Eastern or Central Time Zone听
Position Overview:
The Assistant Director of U.S. Admissions plays a critical role in driving undergraduate and graduate enrollment from the United States to 91直播 of Rome (AUR). Based in the U.S., this position supports the university's strategic enrollment goals by managing recruitment efforts, leading communications efforts, building relationships with key partners, and guiding prospective students through the admissions process.
This position will also serve as the main contact for transfer inquiries and applications.
听
Key Responsibilities:
- Represent AUR at college fairs, transfer fairs, high school visits, and virtual events across assigned U.S. territories.
- Assist with Study Abroad initiatives (partner visits, webinars, etc.) when needed
- Develop and execute regional recruitment strategies to attract First-Year, Transfer, and Study Abroad students.
- Serve as primary point of contact for prospective and admitted transfer students, providing personalized guidance throughout the admissions process, from inquiry to deposit.听
- Work closely with the Registrar鈥檚 Office to ensure accurate and transparent transfer credit evaluations and streamline the transfer student experience.
- Cultivate and maintain relationships with high school counselors, college advisors, independent educational consultants, and institutional partners.
- Conduct virtual and in-person information sessions, webinars, and yield events, with some events occurring during evening hours and over weekends.
- Manage applicant follow-up and communications from inquiry through deposit.
- Collaborate with the admissions team to support territory-specific outreach.
- Analyze territory data to track application, deposit, and yield trends; recommend strategy adjustments to ensure year-to-year increase in deposits.
- Support admitted student conversion through personalized follow-up and family engagement.
- Assist with printing, inventory and mailing of AUR materials in North American marketplace.
- Participate in strategic planning discussions and contribute to the development of annual recruitment goals.
- Travel to AUR annually, likely during new student orientation.
- Other duties as assigned by the Vice President of Enrollment Management and/or Senior Director of Enrollment and Study Abroad.
听Qualifications:
- Bachelor鈥檚 degree required, Master鈥檚 degree preferred.
- Minimum 3-5 years of admissions or recruitment experience, ideally with international or U.S. higher education institutions.
- Knowledge of the U.S. education system and strong familiarity with international education is preferred.
- Excellent communication, relationship-building, and presentation skills.
- Ability to travel frequently.
- Self-motivated, organized, and comfortable working independently in a remote environment.
- Slate CRM experience strongly preferred.
