Perched above the historic center on Rome鈥檚 highest hill, the campus offers more than a view. It places students at the intersection of past and present - where academic inquiry is constantly informed by the city that surrounds it.

Learning That Extends Beyond the Classroom
At AUR, academic programs are designed to connect theory with experience. Courses regularly move beyond the classroom into the city and across Italy, where students engage directly with the subjects they study.
Internships are a central part of this approach. More than 75% of students complete an internship, gaining professional experience with international companies, NGOs, and institutions based in Rome and beyond.

A Close-Knit Academic Community
With just over 800 students across undergraduate and graduate programs, AUR offers a deliberately small and highly engaged learning environment.
Small class sizes foster discussion, critical thinking, and meaningful interaction between students and faculty. Professors bring diverse academic and professional perspectives into the classroom, creating a setting where ideas are explored collaboratively and in depth.

An International Campus
AUR鈥檚 student body represents more than 60 countries, forming a community defined by its diversity of backgrounds, perspectives, and experiences.
While all programs are taught in English, the campus reflects a wide range of cultures and viewpoints. This diversity is not incidental, it shapes the academic experience, encouraging students to think comparatively, communicate across cultures, and engage with complexity in a meaningful way.

Rome as Your Classroom
Rome is an integral part of the AUR experience.
Faculty incorporate site visits and field-based learning into their courses, using the city as a living resource. From ancient history to contemporary politics, from art to business, students encounter their subjects in context - developing a deeper and more applied understanding.
At the same time, Rome serves as a gateway to Europe. With major cities such as London, Paris, Berlin, and Amsterdam within easy reach, students are encouraged to expand their academic and cultural experience beyond Italy.

Accessible and Supported
As a non-profit institution, AUR is committed to maintaining accessible tuition while delivering a high-quality international education.
The cost of attendance (including accommodation) can be significantly lower than that of many U.S. private institutions, allowing students to pursue an international degree with a more manageable financial commitment.
AUR participates in U.S. Title IV Direct Lending, and the Financial Aid Office works closely with students and families to navigate the process. A range of merit- and need-based scholarships further supports access to the university.

A Global Alumni Network
Over more than five decades, AUR has graduated students who have gone on to build careers across industries and continents.
This global alumni network remains actively connected to the university, offering mentorship, professional opportunities, and a lasting sense of community that extends well beyond graduation.

Accreditation

This accreditation affirms AUR鈥檚 commitment to academic quality, institutional integrity, and continuous improvement.

From Here, You Can
An AUR education is shaped by its setting, its scale, and its international character.
Students graduate with more than a degree. They leave with the perspective, independence, and experience needed to navigate a complex and interconnected world.
