Mr. Krapf is the past president of the Richards, Layton & Finger law firm, located in Wilmington, Delaware.聽His聽almost聽four decades of legal experience聽focuses on transactional聽law聽in the areas of real estate, commercial, and land use. Mr. Krapf has held a variety of leadership positions in the state and national bar and has served as a member and officer of the boards of聽a number of聽local, regional, and international business, charitable, and cultural organizations. His聽conviction聽in the importance of聽comprehensive聽training and education聽within the legal profession聽has motivated him throughout his career聽and led to his involvement聽in聽a number of influential聽legal educational programs.
Upon聽his appointment, Mr. Krapf stated聽鈥淚 look forward to working with our talented and energetic Board of Trustees. We tragically and unexpectedly lost our Chair,聽Gabe Battista,聽earlier this year. Gabe led the Board for many years with dedication and skill. Fortunately, our Vice Chair,聽Neil Tanner,聽stepped up and聽has led聽the Board over the past several months. On behalf of the Board, I want to thank Neil for his excellent leadership at a time of uncertainty.鈥澛
Mr. Krapf has served on the Board of Trustees of 91直播 of Rome since 2003,聽and聽served as Secretary of the Board from 2007 to 2017. He has twice chaired a presidential search committee, the latest聽being聽the search that led to the Board hiring Dr.聽Scott聽Sprenger, who assumed his role in July 2020.聽聽Dr.聽聽Sprenger succeeds Dr. Richard Hodges, who聽has聽retired after serving as President for eight years.聽
Dr. Sprenger has been working closely with Mr Krapf in the period preceding his assumption of the presidency and said,聽鈥淚鈥檓 thrilled to be working with Rob Krapf. His long experience with the AUR聽Board聽of Trustees,聽combined with his steady approach to leadership, makes him the perfect Chair to聽help聽the president鈥檚 team聽steer聽the AUR聽community聽through the current crisis聽and beyond.鈥濃
In turn, Mr聽Krapf聽replied聽鈥淚 have served with four Presidents, each having聽their聽own vision and strengths,聽and each adding something new聽to the school.聽Dr.聽Hodges leaves a legacy of enormous progress for AUR,聽but I know that Scott鈥檚 vision and strengths are what AUR needs now to continue its mission.聽AUR has faced challenges in the past and turned those into opportunities.聽I聽can assert with absolute confidence聽that we will face the current challenge of a global pandemic and emerge even stronger.聽The future for AUR under President Sprenger鈥檚 leadership is full of potential.鈥澛
